Matt Askland has been in the mortgage business since March of 2000, initially originating loans in Nashville, TN. In Nashville, he worked in a predominantly refinance sales environment. After succeeding in this atmosphere, he was looking for a stronger industry knowledge base and a new company philosophy that would benefit long-term in this competitive, ever changing industry. This search led Matt to Peoples Home Equity (PHE). PHE had at that time and still has a very unique philosophy that was built on building quality relationships within the industry, and largely focus on the purchase market. Matt Askland has built many Real Estate Agent referral partners based on this philosophy. With a large personal network and experience in refinance and purchase environments it was a natural transition to bring PHE to the Southwest under the dba of RedStone Mortgage.
Matt Askland was raised here in Arizona, predominately in the Mesa and Chandler area. He attended Dobson High School, continued his sports involvement and schooling at Scottsdale Community College and finished his education and degree at Arizona State University. Matt graduated in December of 1999 with a BA in Business and Economics. It was a great experience for Matt to bring RedStone Mortgage home to Arizona.
In 2018, RedStone Mortgage completely rebranded and joined the Cardinal Financial family. There are many reasons for this exciting transition, but most important, the mortgage industry as a whole continues to evolve. Rates are up, margins continue to tighten and improvements to technology and processes are crucial to remaining ahead of the competition. It is more important than ever that we too evolve if we want to maintain the superior service levels we provide our clients, as well as continue our mission to be the best of the best.
We are excited about the future of our company and we look forward to helping YOU open your door!
When Matt isn’t in the office, he enjoys camping, riding the Sand Dunes, playing with his ‘big boy’ toys, DIY household projects and hanging out with his wife and daughter.
